ABSTRACTs-Figuratives
It was in early February 2020 I had my first back surgery. I was staying at a rehabilitation facility when I began hearing
news about a strange virus appearing in Wuhan, China. The pictures shown on television were of people in Wuhan wearing masks. I didn't pay much attention to the wearing of the mask, after all, I thought Chinese people always wore masks in China. . The News clip was showing people were dying from severe respiratory problems. I thought of how difficult it was to learn how to swim because I couldn't coordinate my breathing and how scary that was. Just that simple task. Thinking of other people not being able to breathe at all, and dying, woke me up. It was art that kept me sane during that horrific time in our history. I managed to paint over 300 small paintings, mostly abstract. As time went by the paintings evolved into the struggles on the street, into Abstracted Figurative. The paintings posted are rom 2020-2023. |
